Principal’s Corner

Dear ASCE Families,

We are looking forward to seeing all of our students and families at our Christmas Program this Thursday at Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish, St. Stanislaus Church. This year the middle school band will be joining the elementary school for a beautiful Christmas Program which will begin at 6:30pm. We will open the doors for the program at 5:45pm. All students need to be at the church no later than 6:00pm. Students are asked to dress in their Christmas best, no jeans please. There is parking in front of the church and parking in the back of the church. Thank you to Mr. Bethune and teachers along with all of or students for their hard work, we are looking forward to the program. Congratulations to our two Lego Robotics teams who did a fantastic job at the competition last Saturday. Thank you to our coaches, who worked so well with our students to prepare them for this competition. A big thank you to Mr. Mrozinski, Mr. Ritter, and Mr. Henry for coaching! A big thank you to Mr. Alvesteffer, Mrs. Cook, Mrs. Douglas, and Mrs. Ritter for all their support during the practices! It was wonderful to see all the families at the event, and I hope our students had a fantastic time. See the picture on the next page. This Sunday is the third Sunday of Advent, or Guadete Sunday. Gaudete is Latin for “rejoice.” Let us be reminded that God’s love and grace are with us always.

Many Blessings,
Mrs. Rhodus

Prayer

As we wait in the light of the world, God our Father, help us to be beacons of light and hope to those who walk in darkness. We pray this in the name of Christ, who is our light. Amen.

Virtue of the Week

During morning prayer on Monday, December 12, we will introduce the virtue: Honesty

Sincerity, openness, and truthfulness on one’s words and actions; such as telling the truth, even when it is hard, going to confession, and sharing things equally.

Dear Jesus, You said “I am the truth” (John 14:6). You made me for Truth, because You have made me for Yourself! Help me be honest in all that I say and do, that I may know true happiness in You.

Christmas Program Collection

The address on the permission slip that went home for the Christmas program is incorrect. The location of the Christmas Program is at Our Lady of Czestochowa, St. Stan’s site. It is located at 915 S. Grant St. Bay City, MI 48708. We apologize for any confusion.

Recess

Please be sure your child(ren) is prepared everyday with the appropriate clothing for outside temperatures; coats, gloves, hats, boots and snow pants. The students go outside daily for recess and/or gym. They are outside unless it is raining or the “feels like” temperature is below 10 degrees. For convenience, students can leave their outside apparel at the school and take it home for the weekend.

Snow Boots and Pants

We are in need of new or gently used snow pants and boots. If your child(ren) has outgrown theirs, please consider donating them to us. It would benefit a number of students who do not have these necessary items for recess. All donations a very much appreciated!

SCRIP

The last day to order special order SCRIP before Christmas is Tuesday, December 13, 2022 before 10:00am. The last day to purchase SCRIP is Wednesday, December 21, 2022 by 12:30pm. See the attached flyer for more details.

Basketball starts next month for grades 3-5. The coaches have the team rosters and have been or will be contacting families regarding practices. The coaches have the game schedules and will be providing them to the families.

All Saints Catholic Elementary School Mission Statement

All Saints Catholic nurtures academic and personal excellence in all students while emphasizing Catholic values and service to others in Christ’s name.

Parish Info and Mass Opportunities

With the decline of young families attending church and with so much evil and hate in this world today, we need God now more than ever. It is our responsibility as Catholics to go to church weekly. By doing so, we set good examples for our children and do our part to lead them in the direction of Christ our savior. Attending church as a family is so important and rewarding. It helps to create a special bond between you and God and between your family members. Children need to know and understand the importance of going to church consistently and having a relationship with God. There are many mass options to accommodate busy lifestyles. So please take a little time out of your busy lives each week to grow closer to God and to enjoy mass as a family.
