Little Cougar News

Principal’s Corner

Dear ASCE Families,

We had a wonderful Catholic Schools Week! On Tuesday, the students enjoyed a movie and popcorn (thank you Mrs. Chris Herek for popping the popcorn) in the Little Theater. Wednesday, the students enjoyed hot chocolate and a treat, (thank you to Mrs. Chris Herek for preparing and serving the wonderful hot chocolate bar) the students absolutely loved their treat! On Thursday, we celebrated a beautiful mass and on Friday, the children had a wonderful retreat. Thank you to the 11th graders and Mr. Cieszlak for helping at the retreat. Also, thank you to Mrs. Mrozinski, and Mrs, Ritter for helping with students, so the teachers could enjoy lunch together!
Our students made beautiful cards to send to our priests, our seminarians, and to our volunteers. I know the thoughtfulness put into each card will make everyone’s day!
Thank you to all of our families for your support in donating items for the Good Samaritan Rescue Mission. We will deliver the donated items to the mission on Monday, February 6,2023.
We are looking forward to seeing everyone at the family dance tonight, located at Our Lady Czestochowa, St. Stans’ Parish Hall, 6:00pm—8:00pm. As we conclude Catholic Schools Week, I would like to thank our staff, students, parents, and our parishes, for making our Catholic Schools wonderful! All Saints Catholic is truly an amazing place for our students to learn and grow!

Many Blessings,
Mrs. Rhodus

Prayer

Loving God, may the words of Jesus, our Master Teacher, open our hearts and minds to humble service. Bless those who teach us to live by God’s ways on earth. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Virtue of the Week

During morning prayer on Monday, February 6 we will introduce the virtue: Modesty
Modesty is not being eager to talk about yourself, not calling attention to oneself, and not bragging about one’s talents and achievements.

First Floor Hallway

The 1st floor hallway was decorated in a construction theme for Catholic Schools Week, because we are building disciples of Christ. There was a cardboard bulldozer, a detour and construction signs all over the hallway. The students had so much fun with this and the hallway looked great!!! Thank you so much to Mrs. Cook, Mrs. Douglas, and Mrs. Ritter for volunteering their time to decorate. It is truly amazing what you have done! See pictures on the last page.

Bowling

ASCE will take a field trip to Monitor Lanes on Monday, February 13, 2023. On this day students can wear uniform pants and an ASC spirit shirt.

Service Project

Thank you to everyone who participated in the service project to collect items for the Good Samaritan Rescue Mission. All of the items collected will go to good use and help many families in need.

Cold Weather Reminder

Please be sure your child(ren) is prepared everyday with the appropriate clothing for outside temperatures. The students go outside daily for recess and/or gym. They are outside unless it is raining or the “feels like” temperature is below 10 degrees. If you are in need of any of these items please contact the school office.
Students need to wear the proper attire every day, such as:
• COATS
• BOOTS
• SNOWPANTS
• HATS
• GLOVES

Illness Policy Reminder

If a student is ill with a fever (100.4 or higher) or vomiting, he/she must be fever/vomit free for 24 hours without the help of medicine before returning to school. If a student is out for 3 consecutive days, a Dr. note is needed for the student’s return to school.

All Saints Catholic Elementary School Mission Statement

All Saints Catholic nurtures academic and personal excellence in all students while emphasizing Catholic values and service to others in Christ’s name.

Parish Info and Mass Opportunities

With the decline of young families attending church and with so much evil and hate in this world today, we need God now more than ever. It is our responsibility as Catholics to go to church weekly. By doing so, we set good examples for our children and do our part to lead them in the direction of Christ our Savior. Attending church as a family is so important and rewarding. It helps to create a special bond between you and God and between your family members. Children need to know and understand the importance of going to church consistently and having a relationship with God. There are many Mass options to accommodate busy lifestyles. So please take a little time out of your busy lives each week to grow closer to God and to enjoy Mass as a family.
